Ingredients & Directions
                
   1/2 c  Butter
     2 c  Brown sugar
     2    Eggs
   1/2 ts Vanilla
 3 1/2 c  Flour – sifted
   1/2 ts Cream of tartar
     1 ts Baking soda
 Cream butter, add sugar and then add eggs and vanilla. Sift flour with
 cream of tartar and baking soda and add to first mixture. Form into a roll
 and allow to stand in ice box overnight. Slice thinly and bake on a greased
 baking sheet in moderate oven (375 F) for 10 minutes.
