Pastry
   1/2 ts Salt
   1/2 c  Jewel shortening
          Cold water
     2 c  Sifted flour
          Filling
   1/2 c  Sifted pastry flour
     1 c  Sugar
   1/8 ts Salt
     1 c  Boiling water
   1/3 c  Milk
     3    Egg yolks,beaten
   1/2 tb Butter
   1/2 c  Grapefruit juice
     1 ts Grated grapefruit rind
          Meringue
     3    Egg whites
     4 tb Sugar
 Make simple pie shell and bake.Combine flour,sugar and salt; stir in
 water and milk.Stir and cook over boiling water until mixture
 thickens and no raw flour flavour remains. Stir into egg yolks and
 return to double boiler; stir and cook until thick. Remove from heat
 and add butter,grapefruit juice and rind.Cool slightly; turn into
 baked pie shell.Cover with lightly piled meringue of the egg whites
 and sugar.
