Ingredients & Directions
                
     1 c  Flour
     1 c  Cornmeal, yellow
     2 ts Baking powder
   3/4 ts Salt
   3/4 c  Corn, creamed
   1/2 c  Onion; chopped
     1    Egg; beaten
     2 ts Bacon dripping
          Oil; for frying
 Combine dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.  Add corn, onion, egg, and
 bacon dripping; stir well. Carefully drop batter by level table- spoons
 into deep hot oil (370 F); cook only a few at a time, turning once. Fry
 until the hush puppies are golden brown (3 to 5 minutes). Drain well on
 paper towels.
